The Shimanto River, the longest river in western Japan, is also said to be the most sacred place for canoeists in Japan, as it allows leisurely long-distance water trips in nature without being interrupted by man-made objects. In this program, you will load a Canadian canoe with tools and food for three days, and while camping on the river beach on the way, you will travel in a canoe in the depth of nature along the Shimanto River. You are all the while in nature for three days, traveling along the river just as leaves are flowing.
Day 1
Meet in front of the JR Yodo Line’s Ekawasaki station. At the implementation location, a travel agent then picks you up (Nishitosa tachibana). Get a Canadian canoe ready. Then you’ll start getting instruction. Set up a tent, eat your dinner outside, and then go to bed.
Day 2
After breakfast, disassemble camp. Begin your canoe trek (about 12km). On the way, stop for lunch at the river beach. Camping at Nishitosa Kuchiyanai in Shimanto City means putting up a tent. Dinner outside followed by sleep.
Day 3
After breakfast, disassemble camp. begin your canoe trek (about 8km). On the way, stop for lunch at the river beach. Get there at Kawarrako (facility for canoeing and camping). Wear new clothes and assist with withdrawal chores. To get to a hotel in Nakamura, we send you in a cab. Reach the hotel. Before your flight, we advise you to eat dinner at a bar in Nakamura, Shimanto City.
